AP: Schools debate whether to detail positive tests for athletes

Over the last few weeks, college athletes have become some of the first students to return to campus following the shutdowns and cancellations that sent everyone home in March. Many of these students are being tested regularly for COVID-19, and some have tested positive. But should that information with shared with the public at all, and if so, how specific can or should it be? Schools are taking a number of different approaches, but as I shared in this AP story, I think that disclosing the number of positive tests is a safe way to inform the public while protecting student privacy, as it is very unlikely you can trace a positive test result back to a particular student.
